“SOCIAL AND SOLIDARITY ECONOMY (SSE), SOURCE OF JOB CREATION AND SOCIAL COHESION”

On the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, for the fifth consecutive year, the members of the International Leading Group on Social and Solidarity Economy (GPIESS) will discuss one of the great challenges of our time: People can experience with dignity: employment and work. To face this challenge, all the members agree on the potential of the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE). This model allows to readdress business activity, create decent and quality jobs, take advantage of changes in the world of work and strengthen social cohesion in our societies.
This event, will be chaired by Christopher Itier – High Commissioner for Social and Solidarity Economy and Social Innovation with the Minister of Ecological Transition and Solidarity of the French Republic – will be conducted by Thierry Jeantet – President of SSE International Forum and many experts will participate, such as Philip Alston – Special Rapporteur on Poverty and Human Rights – Abdou Salam Fall – President of the Scientific Committee of SSE International Forum and LARTES Laboratory in Senegal – or Monique Barbut – Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification.
States, United Nations agencies, SSE organizations and civil society arise the solutions presented by the SSE about employment and work to place them at the center of local, national and international action of the International Leading Group on Social and Solidarity Economy.
