View of the EESC on the external dimension of social economy

At its 527th plenary session on 5 and 6 July 2017, the European Economic and Social Committee adopted an own-initiative opinion on ‘ The external dimension of the social economy “.

It recalls the key role of the social economy (SE) in achieving the objectives of all European policies with an external dimension: foreign and security, trade, neighborhood, climate change, Development cooperation and sustainable development.

ESS Forum International welcomes the EESC’s desire to encourage the role of the social economy in international fora, [ILGSSS (International Leading Group on the Social and Solidarity Economy), of which SSEIF provides the secretariat; UNTFSSE (United Nations Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy), G20, G7, ILO, etc.] and collaboration with international financial institutions.
