In collaboration with GSEF, the 8th edition of the Academy on Social and Solidarity Economy of the International Labor Organization took place from 26 to 30 June 2017 in Seoul. For the first time this event was organized in Asia, a continent where SSE is still sparsely promoted by public policy, government and institutions.
On the theme “Innovative Ecosystems for SSE Public policies – A contribution to the future of work”, the Academy enabled all SSE stakeholders – decisions makers, participants and researchers – to examine the different opportunities and initiatives related to SSE while providing a framework for discussions about job creation and the search for a socio-economic development.
Thought as an ecosystem, the Academy addressed in plenary sessions various themes such as participatory governance, legal frameworks, youth, social finance, etc…
This event was also an opportunity to present the “Asia Policy Dialogue 2017” which took place after the SSE Academy, from June 30th to July 1st in Seoul on “SSE for inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development in Asia”.
